This weekend we had the honour of taking part in Flag Day at Beamish Museum. Like last year, it was another beautiful day, although slightly cooler which was very welcome and perfect for a parade. Three of our sections were represented this time with our Beavers making their first appearance. Flag carrying duties were split between the Scouts and the Wolf Cubs, with James and Tom, our newly appointed Two Star Wolf Cubs both being given the honour of carrying flags during the parade, our group definitely had the most flags! Tom had this to say “It was a tremendous honour to be asked to carry the flag during the parade. I felt proud to represent the Pack in this way with numerous friends and family watching.”
In addition to taking part in the parade, we explored the museum and covered some bits we didn’t manage to get to last year, the day concluded with a game of football. We are grateful to everyone at Beamish Museum for hosting this event and allowing us to take part. We are starting a Wolvets section in September and their leaders have already said they want to be represented next year!
